Australia’s spin woes are well documented. In recent years, they have continued to struggle in the subcontinent despite having some established names in the setup. This will be Australia’s first Test assignment since the ill-fated South Africa tour.
Well, day 3 of the Test match is often termed as a moving day in the match and it has lived up to expectations. The start and the finish of the day for Australia was close to a dream but what transpired in the middle part was a nightmare. Asif and Abbas were sensational in the second session. Asif got the ball to kick and turn off the surface and Abbas got it to reverse.
Australians were at one point cruising at 142-0 but their spell in the second session was too hot to handle for the Australian middle-order. We witnessed a great Australian collapse as they lost 10 wickets for just 60 runs. Pakistan were kind enough not to enforce the follow-on and Australian spinners picked up three quick wickets to show some fight. Australia are well behind in this match and they need a miracle to come back. This Dubai track is no longer a highway and we will have an interesting day tomorrow. Join us for that at the same place and same time.
